Following the Bachelor of Cinematography, Antonia Pepita Giesler is currently studying for her Master’s degree at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. In 2022 she recieved a nomination for the Michael-Ballhaus-Preis FIRST STEPS. The film FLUFFY TALES got nominated for the German Short Film Award and shortlisted for the Yugo BAFTA Student Awards. Her latest work has been showcased at the Internationale Hofer Filmtage, the Festival Max Ophüls Preis, the Krakow Film Festival, the Palm Springs International ShortFest and many more. In 2023 she was part of the jury for the Friedensfilmpreis at the 73rd Berlinale.

< Creating an individual aesthetic for a film starts with the script and developing a visual language. My images build different relations to each character and serve the narrative of the story. I focus on concentrated and direct imagery, that advances the story without getting lost in vanity or decor but still gives it feeling and raises the illustration to the next level. Looking for new perspectives, fighting stereotypes, telling underrepresented stories and creating new angles is key for my work. >
